SB 442 Has Been Dropped and Parents Retain Their Right to a Philosophical Objection to Vaccines if They Want or Need It.
As co-chair of the noonsb442, and one who testified to the Oregon Senate Health Committee to stop this bill and speaker at the Freedom Rally in Salem March 9th 2015, it comes with great relief that this bill will no longer be pursued.

Coalition Applauds Oregon Senate for Dropping Senate Bill 442
PORTLAND, Ore—Today, an email from Senator Elizabeth Steiner-Hayward’s (D—Beaverton) chief of staff confirmed that the senator, who was also the chief sponsor of Senate Bill 442, will no longer pursue the legislation.
“We are thankful to Senator Steiner-Hayward and to her colleagues in the senate for recognizing that this particular legislation was not the right course of action, and for protecting parental rights to make medical decisions for their children,” said Bob Snee, Director of Oregonians for Medical Freedom, the grassroots coalition that came together to oppose SB 442.
“Our coalition, like the legislature and the Oregon Health Authority, believe in protecting the safety and health of all Oregon children,” said Snee. “We hope that through education and open dialogue, we can come together and develop a strategy for Oregon’s future in this regard, and look forward to developing that working relationship as soon as possible.”
Thanks to all who joined us in Salem, those who helped in planning, in person and in spirit and those who kept this in prayer. We will keep vigilant for our children. If we the parents don’t protect them from laws that would take away freedoms then who will?
