Yes to GMO Food Labeling
Yes on measure 92! Let’s get GMO food labeled so we have the option to choose what we eat and what we feed our children
I feel that the proliferation of pesticides and herbicides in our food chain that is almost entirely due to GMO seeds and the production of GMO foods, may be the single largest health threat to our civilization. Oregon, we need to join the over 60 countries in the world that have banned GMO but for starters we can at least require that the GMO food be labeled.
As the EWG(Environmental Working Group) has stated:
Monsanto has created genetically engineered sweet corn that produces pesticides in its own tissue, and it’s being grown and sold to consumers throughout Oregon and beyond. This genetically engineered corn – which would never exist in nature – is regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency as an insecticide, but it’s sold alongside natural corn in grocery stores across the country.
EWG believes you deserve to know exactly what’s in your food. That’s why we’ve partnered with DailyKos, Environmental Action, Oregon League of Conservation Voters, Food and Water Watch, Friends of the Earth and Yes on 92 – the grassroots campaign fighting for the passage of Ballot Measure 92, which would require the labeling of GE foods in Oregon.
We stand together to demand that Monsanto and other Big Food companies label their genetically engineered sweet corn. Are you with us?
