Vermont Passes GMO Labeling Law
Vermont just passed into law the requirement to label GMO foods so consumers can make informed decisions about their food purchases! This is an important victory for us and we must do all we can to make sure the freedom to choose healthy, safe food spreads across the country.
The key to health and wellness is getting proper nutrients and avoiding toxins. The food we eat is the primary source of both the proper nutrients and, in the case of GMO foods and non-organic foods, a major source of toxins. The labeling of GMO foods is required by law in 60 countries and all of Europe.
The USA is a major producer of GMO foods. Monsanto’s GMO corn and soy that is round-up ready is a major reason for the huge increase in the use of round-up world-wide. Monsanto poured millions into the labeling law campaigns in California and Washington states and narrowly defeated these laws, temporarily keeping the public in the dark about which foods contain GMO products.
The truth shall set you free, and this movement cannot be stopped. We simply must avoid GMO foods until long term studies on safety, by independent researchers who are not attached to the profits, are done. There are simply too many concerns, the least of which is the increased use of herbicides and pesticides in the food production from GMO seeds.
